About me

Over 30 years of leadership experience in business development, operations, and research.   Richard served as a lead trainer for both virtual and in-person executive workshops on Business Development with MBDi before forming NexGenBD where he leads workshops on Intelligent BD.  He is available as a Senior Consultant to assist in coaching, planning and implementation of an effective BD strategy.

For over 30 years, I have led service-based organizations in a variety of executive leadership roles including (president, vice president) marketing (director) and national sales (director).  In this capacity, I have held key accounts directly in addition to coaching and mentoring business development professionals to outperform budget expectations. 

 I began my career with Clorox before moving to regulatory affairs with a Tenneco subsidiary and advanced to key roles in executive management, business development, and operations with Vulcan Materials, Ecolab, Arista Laboratories, Microbac, Labcorp and Eurofins.  I am familiar with opportunities in M&A culture development.   Innovation in leadership is my driving force.

  I am first and foremost a scientist, mentor and leader grounded in the values of having achieved the rank of Eagle in the Boy Scouts.  My doctorate in chemistry is from the University of California.  I was a 2016 recipient of the prestigious Labcorp Chairman's Award for inspiration, dedication, and unrelenting pursuit of excellence.  I am a member of the American Chemical Society.
